Training and Development

In-plant Training Programmes
The Institute also conducts open training and in-Plant programmes whereby contents of training programmes are customized to the organization’s specific needs. The programmes are agreed with the clients on dates, venue and other related issues.

Open Programmes
The Institute also has a training calendar of its open programmes whereby organizations can nominate their staff to join others from other organizations for learning and cross-fertilization of ideas.

Induction Programmes
The Institute organizes induction ceremonies for inductees and as at 2015, the Institute had held 17th Induction programmes and inducted over 5,000 members since 2008.

Annual Public Lectures
The Institute organizes a Public Lecture on an annual basis, with a view to creating public awareness about the activities of the Institute. The lecture enables HRD Practitioners and the general public to attend and discuss topical and development issues relating to the HRD practice.

Mandatory Continuing Professional Education (MCPE)
To ensure that the quality of professional service rendered is of high quality, members of NITAD are required to fulfill the requirements of and participate in the Institute’s Mandatory Continuing Professional Education. MCPE are those learning activities that develop and maintain capabilities to enable L&D professionals to perform their professional responsibilities with confidence.

Annual Trainers Conference (ATC)
The Annual Trainers Conference is an event that brings together all HRD and L & D practitioners nationwide to rub minds on contemporary issues that affects training and development in Nigeria. Carefully-selected HRD experts are invited to present papers and at the end of the Conference, a communiqué is issued.

Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Once in a year, the General Meeting of the Institute is conducted. During the meeting, prospects, problems and the way forward are discussed by members. Similarly, election of officers to run the affairs of the Institute is conducted.
